SXSW Music Festival is here once again in Austin; and I am so excited to report that Austin’s The Tiarras will be performing at the festival Showcase alongside other musical talent. The Rock/Indie Pop performance will be on March 14th at the Continental Club on South Congress. The performance will be open to Platinum and Music festival badges. The Tiarras will also be performing at the 9th annual Latinapalooza free Day Show on Thursday, March 12th from 12 -6pm. The Tiarras are scheduled to perform at 4pm, with four other artists ahead of them and Patricia Vonne closing out the showcase at 5pm. No badges are necessary. The Continental Club is located at 1315 S. Congress Ave.
I have known The Tiarras and their music for almost two decades, meeting the Baltierra parents, Hector and Debbie, at a community music meeting when their three daughters were very young. I have heard them perform at different venues and festivals in town, hearing them and watching them grown in their musical career. I am very proud of them performing at this well-known international festival in Austin, as well as their past performance at the SXSW Sydney (Australia) festival.
About The Tiarras: Tori, Sophia, and Tiffany Baltierra, a dynamic trio of multi-faceted artists who effortlessly blend genres and cultural influences to create global music that knows no boundaries. Sisters turned into bandmates, The Tiarras have embarked on a journey that defies conventions and embraces sonic exploration.
Hailing from a Mexican American heritage, The Tiarras draw from the rich tapestry of musical diversity that surrounded their upbringing. Their vibrant compositions seamlessly weave together elements of rock, Latin, pop, soul, reggae, and blues, resulting in an eclectic yet refined sound that challenges the very notion of genre. Fueled by a passion for community and inclusiveness, The Tiarras’ music is a conduit for spreading positive energy and empowering messages. Their tracks, like “Soy Chingona” and “Let Love Free,” resonate far and wide, gaining recognition on prestigious platforms including NPR World Cafe, Mitú & Grimy Goods.
