After the World Premiere was held in Austin, TX at the historic Paramount Theater on May 15th, followed by a limited theatrical release (in Austin for sure in various theaters), Hit Man is now streaming on Netflix as of June 7, 2024.

LOGLINE: Inspired by an unbelievable true story, a strait-laced professor discovers his hidden talent as a fake hit man. He meets his match in a client who steals his heart and ignites a powder keg of deception, delight, and mixed-up identities.

I did go see it on the big screen while it was available and thoroughly enjoyed all of it. Powell, a native Austinite and Adria Arjona (daughter of Ricardo Arjona, a renowned singer-songwriter in Latin America), have a great on-screen chemistry. Powell is outstanding as he changes characters. No spoilers here.

Glen Powell (just to mention a few credits and other films suggested for viewing): Top Gun: Maverick, Hidden Figures, Everybody Wants Some, Anyone But You, The Expendables 3 (2014). When the latter film was to be released a decade ago, Glen Powell was in Austin as part of a press tour, and I met and interviewed him (for a publication I worked for at the time). His film credits start with Spy Kids 3: Game Over (2003), directed by local Austinite, Robert Rodriguez.

Adria Arjona (known for Father of the Bride, 2022, Morbius, 2022, “True Detective” TV series)

I highly suggest putting this film on your list to watch soon. The script and performances are great.
