Directed by Jason Satterlund from a script written by Dwain Worrell, this Sci-Fi/Thriller/Horror story is not for the faint of heart, and for anyone who has a fear of small or enclosed spaces. The film does start out in wide open spaces in Iraq, but it is not soon after that Miles Willis (Jonathan Rosenthal) is shot that things change for him. It is while he finds himself in a form of captivity that he must use all his wits and training to survive. I found Rosenthal very convincing in his role of someone who is in a confined space and must not let it get the best of him. Among his gear is the satellite phone that seemingly stops and starts working. He receives a call and then can form a bond with Damsey Robins (Tamara Perry) with some shared similarities. After a very rocky start, they establish trust.
The film may not appeal to cinema fans who must view a single setting for a long period of time. Some may find it does not hold their interest for the long haul, but there is enough of a change periodically to stay engaged with the characters and see how far they can find a way to help each other.
Synopsis: Injured U.S. soldier Miles Willis awakens after witnessing a blinding white light on a battlefield in Iraq to discover he is trapped in a mysterious cube armed only with his combat gear. His dire situation escalates as the cube begins to change with violent shifts in gravity and the appearance of cryptic writing on the walls. As Miles begins to question his sanity, he finds a lifeline – a voice on the other end of his satellite phone who claims to be a prisoner in a similar space. As the walls close in, these two strangers must put their heads together if they are to outwit their captors and unlock this deadly puzzle.
