SXSW 2026 took place from March 12–18, a seven-day format due to renovations at the Austin Convention Center, consolidating music, film, and tech programming. Music showcases were available seven consecutive days and nights, in multiple downtown venues.

Among the many showcases of music available is Los Lobos from East L.A. and they kicked off their performances on March 14, at 9pm at Austin’s iconic venue, the Continental Club. Also taking the stage first that evening was Austin’s The Tiarras. They are a sister trio that delivers an eclectic sound and anthemic lyrics, celebrating unity/empowerment/culture.

They had the World Premiere of their documentary, Los Lobos Native Sons, the following day on March 15 at the Paramount, followed by screenings at the Rollins Theater and Violet Crown Cinema. What a treat that was for badge holders and those folks who were able to purchase an individual ticket!

Another showcase Los Lobos had scheduled was presented by NPR Live Sessions on March 16 at 3pm at the Downright Austin – Radio Day Stage, Downright Austin Backyard. As you can see from the photo, the group was rocking and so was the happy audience there.

Los Lobos members are Louie Perez – Drums, Guitars, Percussion, Vocals

Steve Berlin – Saxophone, Percussion, Flute, Midsax, Harmonica, Melodica

Cesar Rosas – Vocals, Guitar, Mandolin

Conrad Lozano – Bass, Guitarron, Vocals

David Hidalgo – Vocals, Guitar, Accordion, Percussion, Bass, Keyboards, Melodica, Drums, Violin, Banjo

There is no doubt this was an exciting time for the fans that attended the 2026 festival!
